the Religious Studies Social Network

Pray for the Coptic Church as they elect a new Patriarch. To learn more visit: http://www.copticchurch.net/topics/pope/.
The aim of the eastxwest Religious Studies Network is to:
+ Build up our Christian life by sharing our faith with other Christians.
+ To post video and text articles sharing the rich traditions of the universal Church.
+ To post articles and conference reports in Jewish Christian and inter-Christian dialogue, with a particular emphasis on the progress of Pan Orthodox and Orthodox Catholic dialogue.
+ To develop albums of images for the use of iconographers and church artists.
+ Peer to peer sharing of religious education and discussion, catechetics, university studies, icon writing etc. we are currently engaged in and get feedback.
+ To share studies and artwork relating to the Online Icon course between tutors and students.
+ To share work on developing liturgical life and liturgical buildings, including western Tridentine and post Vatican II rites.
+ To look at the inter-cultural context in which many churches are situated, including inter-faith dialogue.
Personal Projects include:
+ Developing material for 'The Diary of the Virgin Mary after Pentecost.'
+ Developing a calendar of key eastern and western saints as a means of understanding the religious history of theuniversal Church, with an emphasis on Fathers of the early Councils and Saints before the Great Schism.
Special Features include:
+ The Portfolio facility, which enables members to make up portfolios of pdf text files, pictures and videos around a specific subject. The pdfs so far include reports on inter-Christian dialogue, on particular devotions - such as how to decorate an Orthodox Christmas tree during Advent, and the life of St. Martin, whose monasteries combined eastern and western monastic characteristics, and many other subjects.
+ The i-Write, which is excellent for writing or saving short articles and news items and inviting comments.
+ A number of rich liturgical videos have been posted - Orthodox liturgies feature quite prominently.
+ mp3 files can be posted - some of the music for the new English Mass has been put up.
+ Photo Albums on various subjects of church life are being posted.
+ Members use the search bar to access content on a preferred subject.
